The Community Council is planning to purchase two defibrillators for the district. We need volunteers to help with fund-raising for this vital piece of equipment, and volunteers to be trained how to use it.
Defibrillators save lives. Around 60,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK every year. When someone goes into cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces their chances of survival by 10%. A defibrillator is a machine that delivers an electric shock to the heart when someone is having a cardiac arrest and can help save a life.
If you can volunteer to help with fund-raising, or to be trained how to use the defibrillator, please get in touch with David Beveridge at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave your name and contact details in my box in the Spar.
